Joel Ott wears his Heart on his Carpenter’s Belt

He completed the four-year journeyman program in only two years, and won the Gold Medal in the 2002 Red River College Carpentry contest. During his studies, Joel realized he wanted to focus on the intricacies and craftsmanship of designing and building decks. In 2002 he established Deckworks and began living his dream.

Joel is a real people person. He’s passionate about collaboration, sharing ideas with you and solving the puzzle of your perfect deck. In fact, that’s the amazing thing about our State Of The Heart Creations: your new deck will seem like it’s been there the whole time.
